Six a Side Report

Saturday 20th September saw the final cricketing action of the 2008 season at Worlington with the annual 6-a-side competition.

This year, six teams took part including four home-based sides, Exning C.C and Mildenhall Ladies. The teams were split into two groups of three in a round-robin format. This was then followed by Semi-finals and a Final as well as a 'wooden spoon' match ensuring everyone got at least three games of cricket in.

'The Bushmen', led by Ian Roberts were defeated in the final by a strong Exning side. Exning's success revolved around some impressive batting performances by Craig Estlea who retired after scoring 25 in each of their matches.

Special thanks go to Barny Bowens for managing the day's proceedings, and to Kenny Lucas for once again preparing a suitable playing wicket so late in the season.
